Well good evening. No, I said good evening. What about you people upstairs? Well I don't think it's up to us to say wellcome, but nevertheless, welcome to ah, Led Zeppelin. Well this is the ah, this is the beginning of the third leg of ah, or the third part of what has proved to be the longest tour that we've ever done, and as we start off, we've got a couple of amazing problems. I've gone deaf in one ear which is, which leaves the critics to work it out for themselves. Jimmy's got a touch of sleeping sickness and so what we're gonna try and do is play and play and play not stop.

k you. Well ah, was a track from the last studio album we ever did that was called PResence, and it's no good introducing things as if we're all dumb. Ain't this changed a bit since the little building up the road? Anybody remember the one where we used to do a thousand encores, remember? Well I was here the other night and saw the Seattle Sound Display. Anybody heard of the Seattle Sound Display? You're very priveledged to be sitting or standing on a soccer pitch. The holy land, you know? I guess this song's about some part of the holy land too.

Jimmy Page guitar. This ah, this next piece also features Jonesy on piano, on keyboard. It's ah, it's a song about a journey. A rather, a journey that has it's pitfalls and a journey with anticipations of all sorts of problems. It's called No Quarter. John Paul Jones.

Before: Ten Years Gone
John Paul Jones piano, John Paul Jones. Ta Godd evening. Well I guess it's a funny thing to tell ya that when you're deaf in one ear, but you know what's happened? It's clear again. It's the strangest cure I've ever known, but ah, right so the story so far is that ah, when we were laid up for like two years of physical incapability, when we couldn't go on the road and tour, the time cale when we finally realized that we could do it again, and well, we couldn't do that cause that takes really, that's a really silly sketch. So we sat down when we were rehearsing and we said right, so let's have a look at some of the numbers that we'd done in the past on album, but we never managed to do on stage, and we realized that we got a few sort of ah, barriers that we'd have to cross if we were to be able to attack some of these things. Consequently, John Paul Jones went out and bought a three necked instrument which enables us to do a track from Physical Grafitti/ It's called, it's called Ten Yrars Gone.

Thank you. This is ah, this is something we started doing at the beginning of this tour. We hadn't done since 1970, something like that. It's what we used to call, in the ah, glorious days of flower power I guess, the acoustic set, and at this point it brings to the front of the stage John Bonham. John Henry Bonahm. Alright. Can we have a little more mandolin in the monitors please? Otherwise we might be here all night just sitting here, and a little more tamborine. Alright. Arsenal.

Thank you. Well that was a song that ah, was inspired by our meanderings on the um, on the borders of England and Wales where there was a lot of bother in the old days, you know? It was sort of very very very very medievil punk rock. Heavy times on the border, but it was before the safety pin. This in turn's got ah, takes us about six thousand miles from that location on yet another one of those searches. This is for everybody who's come from Alaska. Has anybody come from Alaska? Well this is for you babe.

Thank you. It's ah, it's very seldom that we make any comment about ah, sort of conduct, and things like that but I think it's about the lousiest thing that you could possibly do to throw firecrackers, right? Now I suppose at the end of saying that, somebody's just going to throw one to go well there you go man, but it would be really about the best thing that you could do on a Sunday night not to throw firecrackers. Is everybody agreed? And then it will also aid us to play acoustic music without having a heart atteck. I thank you. Well that was for the people from Alaska. There must be some people from british Columbia. One of the worst places in the world to get spiked, but one of the greatest places to play. This is for all the people of Vancouver, and around that area. Pity about the soccer team though, hey?

It's true to say, it's fair to say in fact that, that little bit of impromtu jazz in the middle doesn't usually happen. It was a broken string that caused it, but at least we know we can play in the bar at the hotel afterwards. Thank you. I was only kidding of course.

Thank you ah, that was a thing called Achillies Last Stand, but it wasn't quite the last stand actually. Arsenal. It's ah, I'd like to say good health, cheers. Well this song I guess at large meetings like this when there's been no pushing, no shoving, no whirlwinds of people milling around and it's been a nice orderly time. This song should really be dedicated to ocassions like this.
